SEIPS in action
SEIPS in Action is a comprehensive course designed to equip healthcare professionals with practical skills in applying the Systems Engineering Initiative for Patient Safety (SEIPS) framework. As you will be aware from HSSIB Systems Approach course, systems frameworks support building a model of a system that all stakeholders will recognise and therefore acts as a basis for improvement. Consequently a system framework does not stand alone, data must be gathered to build that model.
In this course participants will gain hands-on experience in using a range of tools that integrate effectively with SEIPS to support data gathering, analysis, systems modelling and improvement. This course combines theoretical coursework, an intensive live workshop, and extended mentoring to solidify learning and support real-world application.
This course is for those who are healthcare investigators or those with an active role in a healthcare investigations and are seeking to enhance their expertise in patient safety, systems design, and Human Factors. Upon completion, participants will be better equipped to lead investigations and other learning responses as well as safety and quality improvement initiatives in their organisations.
